Vet Prep Classes

A two-part training series that is designed to prepare your dog for stress-free veterinary visits

Vet Prep One

The goal of this class is to help prepare your dog for the experiences and items they may encounter at a veterinary hospital. This fun and interactive class will have your dog enjoying stationing, handling, stethoscopes, syringes, and the glorious cone of fun!

  • Class runs for 6 weeks

  • One hour in length 

  • Small group classes for maximum comfort and learning

  • Location: Westside Animal Hospital parking lot

  • Cost: $150

Next session starts:

Saturday April 13th - May 18th at 9am

Vet Prep Two

This fun and interactive class builds on level 1 and adds in different elements, introduces muzzle training, mock blood draws and has your dog enjoying stationing, handling, stethoscopes, syringes, and the glorious cone of fun! (Level 1 must be taken to do level 2)

  • Class runs for 6 weeks

  • One hour in length

  • Small group classes for maximum comfort and learning

  • Location: Westside Animal Hospital parking lot and other locations around Santa Cruz

  • Cost: $150

Next session starts:

Saturday April 13 - May 18th at 10:30am

Who are the Vet Prep Classes For:

  • If you want to make vet visits less stressful for you and your dog

  • If you want to help your dog feel more comfortable with handling and grooming 

  • If you want to learn something fun and new with your dog

  • Increase the bond between you and your dog

  • If your dog is going to have surgery soon

Your dog will be exposed to items and scenarios they will encounter at the veterinary hospital. The skills you and your dog learn in this class will help to reduce the stress associated with vet visits, transfer to grooming care, and build trust for care at home!
